The academic part of VIS4 works in the area of Computer Science at the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering of the University of Perugia. It is well placed in the International Computer Science Community and in particular in the Graph Drawing one, for its scientific expertises in the field of Information Visualization, with main emphasis to the design and development of algorithms and systems for the automatic visualization of complex data. Networks (also represented with the mathematical concept of graphs) are structures that occur in many application contexts, they represent entities as nodes (or vertices) and relationships among these entities as edges. The research group works on new methodologies and tools for the automatic layout and the visual analysis of these networks in several application fields, e.g., information systems, databases, software engineering, web search engines, computer networks, and social networks. Jobnet s.p.a. is born from the marriage of experiences in technology and personnel management, built especially working on innovative projects in collaboration with universities and higly skilled experts of being and knowing of being in. The initial idea is to design and test a new breed of intermediation tools. It's realized in this way a system that connects application and job with something more than the simple keyword search: a software based on artificial intelligence. This "intelligent engine" starting over time becomes the core of a product that supports the decisions typical of the whole area of human resources management.
